To promote the message of panda conservation and sustainable
development 1600 Pandas World Tour travelled around the world to held
exhibitions, including France, the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Switzerland,
Taiwan and Hong Kong. And from 21 December 2014 to 25 January 2015, Malaysia was the third stop after
Hongkong in Asian Region.
This program is started in 2008 as a collaboration between
WWF and Paulo Grangeon which is known as acclaimed artist from France. He
crafted 1600 Panda using recycled paper mache in various pose, size and
emotion. Why 1600? 1600 is the number of living pandas left in the wild. Funds
raised from the "1600 Panda World Tour In Malaysia" will be channeled
to support WWF-Malaysia's conservation efforts.
